#1 Vintage Market on the Naviglio Grande
As every last Sunday of the month worthy of respect, the banks of the Naviglio Grande in Milan will host the city's largest monthly antiques market. Lamps, furniture, clothing and hard to find vintage accessories, for an afternoon in the pursuit of vintage shopping and curiosity. From 9 am to 6 pm.
#2 BOOM 60! at Museo del Novecento
The spaces of the Milanese museum will host BOOM 60! It was modern art, an exhibition curated by Mariella Milan and Desdemona Ventroni dedicated to the art in Italy during the ‘50s and ‘60s, investigated through the most popular media of the time: newspapers and illustrated news magazines. Until March 12, 2017.
The new CineWanted cinema of via Tertulliano 68 will host the first screenings of the documentary dedicated to Robert Mapplethorpe’s life, the iconic American photographer disappeared in 1989. You can watch it on Friday at 10 pm, Saturday at 6.30 and 10 pm and Sunday at 10 pm. By purchasing the ticket you will also support the crowdfunding project #IWant, to establish a niche theater in Milan.
The exhibition dedicated to Jean-Michel Basquiat’s emblematic figure, curated by Jeffrey Deitch and Gianni Mercurio, opens today in Milan. The American artist, who died at the age of 27, managed to bring the public attention on basic issues about human identity and race. Until February 26, 2017.
