Virgil Abloh x Mercedes-Benz: all the images of the anticipated collaboration
The Off-White founder has reimagined the G-Class

Two months after the announcement of their collaboration, Virgil Abloh and Mercedes-Benz have finally raised the curtain on their highly anticipated Project Geländewagen.
The protagonist of the collabo is the new version of the G-Class, the off-road vehicle produced by the German manufacturer for over 40 years and here reimagined by Abloh's mind in a four-handed project together with Gorden Wagener, head of Mercedes-Benz design. The focus of the project is the desire to combine the world of cars with that of fashion to further redefine the meaning of New Luxury.
In this new incarnation, the G-Class becomes a racing car thanks to the exterior where many elements of the race cars join those of the Mercedes model. But it is on the inside that Abloh's hand becomes more present thanks to what has been defined as an art installation in which the interior of a rally car blends with the aesthetic so dear to the founder of Off-White. The end result is described as "raw, natural and more honest."
Abloh and Mercedes then launched a charity auction in support of a charity involved in the world of art whose winners will be awarded a unique reproduction of the work and the opportunity to meet Abloh and Wagener. A replica of the car will be auctioned as part of the Sotheby's Contemporary Curated collection, bidding will open on 14 September while the auction will close on 2 October.
