Tumblr bans porn and adult content

Is it the end for the popular microblog platform?

Tumblr bans porn and adult content Is it the end for the popular microblog platform?

The decision has just been announced: Tumblr says goodbye to porn. Starting on December 17th, all the photos, illustrations, gifs and videos with pornographic content and those in which you see women with uncovered nipples will be banned on the platform. Artistic images will be allowed (unless they show sexual acts), nude images during political protests, photos of newborn babies and photos of breastfeeding women. The managers of the profiles that have within them "adult" posts will receive in the coming days of the warning emails about the deletion of their contents, but their accounts will remain accessible.

The new provision comes as a reaction to the exclusion of Tumblr, which took place in mid-November, from the Apple store for the presence of child pornography material and could mark the beginning of the end of the microblog platform. The "hot" content, in fact, has always been one of its most widespread methods of use so much that, already a few years ago, an article by Cosmopolitan underlined how the obsession with porn on Tumblr was becoming a social phenomenon for the twenties. The news, following the recent announcement by Starbucks of the introduction of filters from 2019 that will prevent seeing "adult" sites in its premises (triggering a boycott by Youporn), has had a strong echo on Twitter and other social media. The best? That site bitchyf.it, according to which now "Tumblr will become Cioè". Read some more below. What do you think?
