The scream of Pokémon
Pikachu & Co. reinterpret the legendary Munch's painting
October 20th, 2018
After having invaded our cities with Pokémon Go, the monsters created in 1996 by Satoshi Tajiri, are conquering the art world thanks to a very special collaboration.
In fact, from October 27 to January 20, 2019, the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum will host for the first time in Japan the famous "The Scream" by Edvard Munch, present along with other works by the Norwegian painter in the exhibition "Munch: A Retrospective". To celebrate the event, the Pokémon Company has created 5 promo cards inspired by the famous painting with Pikachu, Eevee, Psyduck, Rowlet and Mimikyu that recreate in every detail the iconic "screaming" pose with the psychedelic background. The cards will be available, unfortunately only on the Japanese market, starting from October 27th for 450 yen each.
If you are wondering what the special move of these painted characters is, the answer is easy: Scream, which is the ability to make Pokémon in battle confused.
