Charlie Kessler accused them of plagiarism

The Duffer brothers seemed to be in trouble.
The creators of the award-winning Netflix TV series, Stranger Things, have indeed been sued by the director Charlie Kessler who would have accused them of plagiarism and being the real creator of the series. The ideas, the location, not surprisingly, presents some parallels with his short film Montauk (2012), also containing scenes that refer to the paranormal, legends and above all concealed conspiracies.
Here an excerpt of the film:
True or not, Kessler is determined than ever to provide all the necessary to get what he wants: the profits of the series and the destruction of what was generated by the Duffer. The director of the short film has indeed declared that he has confided his project to the brothers during a party in 2014, science fiction, hidden truths, intrigues... does it remind you something?
Stranger Fact: Stranger Things originally had to be called ... Montauk, from the moment it took inspiration from the well-known Montauk project, an alleged and secret experiments conducted by the United States with the aim of developing a psychological war - a project already described in 1956 by the famous writer Frederik Pohl in his novel Slave Ship -.
