A new movie saga from the Skywalker family is coming.
The two showrunners of Game of Thrones have been hired by Disney to deal with this new series of chapters of Star Wars, untied by the new trilogy currently under development by the director of The Last Jedi Rian Johnson, but also from The Skywalker Saga.
While millions of fans of the saga are waiting for the arrival in the theaters, scheduled for May, of Solo: A Star Wars Story, the film centered on the young Han Solo, comes another great news:
David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will be writers and producers of some new Star Wars movies.
Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, called Benioff and Weiss:
"the best storytellers in the world" and stated that "Their command of complex characters, depth of storm and richness of mythology will break new ground and boldly push Star Wars in ways I find incredibly exciting".
The couple of authors, excited, responded with this tweet:
"In the summer of 1977 we traveled to a galaxy far, far away, and we’ve been dreaming of it ever since. We are honored by the opportunity, a little terrified by the responsibility, and so excited to get started as soon as the final season of Game of Thrones is complete".
As soon as it was released, the news sent both GOT and Star Wars fans into raptures, curious to see how these two worlds will combine.
