A new movie by Lars Von Trier is going to happen
Everything it's know about The House That Jack Built
February 15th, 2017
"The House That Jack Built"celebrates the idea that life is evil and soulless, which is sadly proven by the recent rise of the Homo Trumpus, the rat king. Lars Von Trier is back. And he does, as stated in The Guardian, with a film at least partly inspired by the political rise of the new president of the United States, Donald Trump. The controversial Danish director's upcoming work will star Matt Dillon in the role of Jack, a "highly intelligent" serial killer and will follow his history for a 12-year period between the seventies and eighties. According to rumors, the film, focuses on the murder as a means to define the development of the personality, could be divided into "five incidents" (the same murders) with some digressions. Last week, Von Trier has released a picture of himself with a sickle and a bell, a clear reference to Carl Theodor Dreyer's "Vampyr", one of the favorite films of the director, who told Variety: "On the occasion of the shooting of "The House That Jack Built", I have made an evocative photo with a cinematic reference".
A hint about new film's references? Maybe.
Until now it's sure that will be part of the cast, as well as Dillon, Riley Keough, Sofie Gråbøl and Bruno Ganz who will play the mysterious Verge. Shootings will begin in Sweden in March and will travel to Copenhagen in May.
The release of "The House That Jack Built" is planned for 2018.
