Brit Awards 2016
The 5 best moments
February 25th, 2016
Spectacular performances, funny moments and winners already confirmed in the music industry: these were the ingredients of the most awaited night by the British music stars, held yesterday night at the O2 arena in London by the British Phonographic Industry. Here are the best moments of the night:
#1 The Coldplay opened the Award ceremony, performing their latest single Hymn For The Weekend, part of the album A Head Full Of Dreams with Beyoncé. They lit up the stage with a shower of confetti on the audience, taking home the award for Best British Group.
#2 A romantic campfire and a starry sky were the background of the incredible performance by Justin Bieber, winner of the Best International Male Solo Artist award. The first song was Love Yourself - written in collaboration with Ed Sheeran - this time accompanied by colleague James Bay and not by his official guitarist Dan Kanter. After the acoustic song, Justin went wild on stage with the dancers for a fiery performance to the tune of Sorry.
#3 After Lady Gaga's performance at the Grammys as a tribute to David Bowie, at the Brit Awards the task was entrusted to a young singer: Lorde. Thanks to her unique voice and interpretation, she recalled Bowie with the song Life on Mars.
#4 Rihanna, after a long wait - she bailed up at the last minute for the Grammys for health problems - performed presenting for the first time two live songs from her latest album Anti: Consideration and Work. With a total white look and fringed pants, the Barbados queen played with the special effects of lights and lasers, performing in a sensual twerking in duet with Drake.
#5 This performance could be called the "the Adele revenge" - after the criticism and tears that followed her performance at the Grammys 2016. She has won four awards, including Best British Female Solo Artist, MasterCard British album of the Year, Best British Single with Hello, and Best Global Success. She closed the show, performing her song When We Were Young, to listen strictly with your eyes closed.
