What happened during the MTV EMAs last night?

Last night in Milan it was all about the MTV Europe Music Awards, the event which awards annually the international artists most loved by the European audience. It’s a very democratic ceremony: it’s up to the fans to bring on stage their favourite darlings by voting them online on the event’s website, and fans are also the ones with the best seats during the show.

Outside the Assago Forum, there was a long walkway with a red carpet enclosed within a transparent glass structure which led the numerous special guests inside the location. The show was presented by Ruby Rose, the Australian actress who's redefining the concept of gender in the television landscape, and Ed Sheeran, the 24 year-old red-haired British singer-songwriter.

On stage, the public saw the performances of Justin Bieber (the artist who received the highest number of awards during the evening), Jason Derulo, Ellie Goulding, James Bay and Pharrell, who closed the night with a highly scenic exhibition.
