AKEEM celebrates its 10th anniversary with Pepper's Ghost

Since 2012, AKEEM has been hosting a melting pot of exceptional people and experiences to keep the soul clubbing alive, a universe loved all around the world,  where excess, originality and the fusion of urban music and alternative sounds reign supreme. AKEEM events have always celebrated art in all its forms, but this year the creators decided to take it a step further and push the limits of performative exploration. On 9 March, AKEEM will celebrate its 10th birthday with a groundbreaking event, aimed at reminding its audience of the great achievements it has made over the years, including its focus on the younger generation and its ongoing commitment to social, cultural, and racial integration. HAYA, The Akeem Experience, is an event that stems from the desire to evolve the concept outside of the meaning of "club," as Marvely explains, «for the first time we are leaving the club dimension to evolve into an experience to be lived, bringing our essence 'It's a whole mood, Your way of life' to an arena, with the aim of becoming an annual event.»

The first episode of this new experience will host as a special guest Pepper's Ghost under the guidance of the collective's founder and Art Director Anderson Tegon, who will bring their high-tech and artistic skills to the stage offering for the first time in Italy a live entertainment experience of immersive digital art. For Anderson, the collaboration was natural, the result of a personal growth that could not be taken for granted: «paradoxically, it was not born in a precise moment, but was a continuous becoming and growing of common visions that were perhaps only waiting for the stage and the right opportunity to represent my artistic vision and Pepper's Ghost, with that of AKEEM.» Thanks to the artistic and innovative vision of this collaboration, and the accompaniment of The Perseverance, the essence of AKEEM will be told through a fantastic journey, a 4-act story that offers the audience an emotional and fantastic experience.

With a focus on sustainability, the art installation produced by Giochi di Luce using only waste products will add to the unique atmosphere by keeping the event's production km 0, as Anderson explains: «the sharing of values and the focus on an ethical future is one of the things that unite us, more than a choice, and is the result of a vision that will reduce the logistical and transport impact of materials.» The soundtrack, created with the expert hand of British producer Fiona Brice - among the artists she has worked with are Kanye West, Jay-Z Beyoncé, Placebo, and Liam Gallagher, to name a couple - will transfer an international feel to Milan's Alcatraz. «Akeem has always been a point of reference for those who love and make music, intercepting and promoting live shows Italian and international artists who were still semi-unknown, who then established themselves and are now 'big names',» explains Marvely, «For this show, we wanted to do what we do best: bring to the stage some Italian artists, first of all, friends, whom we esteem and believe will mark the scene in the coming years, and alongside them 4 guest DJs, 4 columns of the Italian urban scene, and of course Akeem's DJs.»
