The new Stone Island and C2C event in Milan
International avant-pop lands at Fabrique
November 3rd, 2021
Two years after the last Milanese event and one month after the London event, Stone Island and C2C land again in Milan with the eighth edition of STONE ISLAND PRESENTS, an event to be held on 10 November at Fabrique, historic location of some of the most important live shows of the Italian and non-Italian music scene. The event, completely free and accessible upon reservation on DICE, is part of the Stone Island Sounds cultural project, created to support independent art scenes and local communities in the world's most important cities by combining playlists, record releases and live events.
The line up will include artists chosen for their unique approach to experimentation and innovation, a collective portrait of the international avant-pop scene. Opening Arooj Aftab, who reconciles with his own music some of the characteristics of the tradition of his native country, Pakistan - including classical Persian music, Sufi devotional songs and traditional Arabic song - with ambient, jazz, the new age and folk giving life to an unpredictable result. Followed by Sons Of Kemet, the formation led by saxophonist and clarinetist Shabaka Hutchings, the main spokesman of the London new jazz scene, veteran of one of the best records of his career, Black to the Future.
The program is completed by DJ, producer and philosopher Kode9, one of the key figures of the independent electronic scene of the last decade and head of the legendary Hyperdub Records label, renowned for artists such as Burial, the late DJ Rashad and many others.
The STONE ISLAND PRESENTS event of Stone Island and C2C will take place on November 10th at 8:30 pm at Fabrique, in Milan. To book for free click on this link.
