It was Richie Hawtin, under his pseudonym Plastikman, who curated the soundtrack of the Prada show staged during the Milan Fashion Week.
The Canadian deejay composed a twelve-minute track entitled Sin Thetik, which was then also proposed in a second twenty-minute ambient version. The pieces were then used during the first show of the new Prada collection which saw the debut of Raf Simons alongside Miuccia.
"I am very proud to announce my collaboration with Prada for the soundtrack of their SS21 collection" commented Hawtin. "Sin Thetik was born over the course of a few intense weeks of work and was inspired by some conversations with Raf and Miuccia." Plastikman's last album dates back to 2014, while two years ago Hawtin announced plans for a new album under a pseudonym.
One of the most famous names in the club culture of the 00s, Richie Hawtin was one of the pioneers of electronic music, leading the wave of the so-called second wave of Detroit Techno. Among the many pseudonyms adopted over the years, Plastikman is certainly the best-known, also thanks to its iconic logo. EX, from 2014, is his latest album released under the pseudonym.
