Nobel Peace Prize Concert x Janelle Monae

Il Concerto Nobel Peace Prize è un omaggio musicale annuale che si tiene l'11 Dicembre  per onorare il vincitore del Nobel Peace Prize ad Oslo, Norvegia. Quest' anno, il premio sarà diviso equamente tra tre donne estremamente influenti e determinate: il Presidente Liberiano Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, la liberiana Leymah Gbowee e Tawakkul Karman dello Yemen.  Le attrici Helen Mirren e Rosario Dawson saranno gli ospiti speciali  dell'evento. Performers da tutto il mondo prenderanno parte orgogliosamente a questa prestigiosa serata, che presenta svariati generi musicali. Quest'anno Janelle Monae, una cantante nota per i suoi messaggi al di là delle barriere sociali, prenderà parte al concerto, con le sue performance energiche  ed un look che devia, talvolta, nei classici del menswear. Nominata tre volte per il Grammy, Monae dopo i due album, Metropolis e The ArchAndroid, ha in progetto l'uscita di altri due nel 2012. In un industria musicale dove gli standard per le artiste femminili appaiano sempre più focalizzati sullo shock e non sul talento, Janelle Monae sembra fare l'opposto rispetto alla massa. Janelle rappresenta la novità in un' industria discografica dove troppe volte l'immagine sostituisce il talento. The  Nobel Peace Prize Concert is a musical tribute held annually on December 11th to honor the year’s Nobel Peace Prize recipient in Oslo, Norway. This year, the Prize will be divided equally between three extremely influential women, and the concert will be hosted by two. The prize recipients are Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Leymah Gbowee of Liberia, and Tawakkul Karman of Yemen. Actresses Helen Mirren and Rosario Dawson will host the event. Performers from around the world are proud to be a part of this important evening, which features music from all genres. Included in this year's concert is Janelle Monae, a barrier-breaking songstress known for her message-driven sound, high-energy performances, and twists on classic menswear. Three-time Grammy nominated Monae has released two albums, Metropolis and The ArchAndroid, and will reportedly release two more in 2012. In a music industry where the standard for female artists appears to be more focused on shock value than talent, Janelle Monae seems to do the complete opposite of what is considered normal. She’s representing change in an industry void of anything like her, which makes her the perfect performer for a concert honoring three women that have worked consistently to bring about positive change for women.
