AMI Paris to be main sponsor of Cannes Critics' Week The French brand will also be awarding the AMI Paris Grand Prix

If there is one thing you learn when you take an interest in fashion and start digging deeper to understand what lies behind it, it is that it is never just about clothing. While the debate over whether fashion is a true art form continues and will likely never reach a definitive answer, we do know that fashion draws its inspiration from art in all its forms and colors—from painting to music, and, of course, cinema. And today, cinema intertwines with fashion: reinforcing its commitment to cinema, creativity, and young talent, the house of AMI Paris will be the main sponsor of the 64th edition of the Semaine de la Critique, during which it will present the Grand Prix AMI Paris.

A great cinema enthusiast, Alexandre Mattiussi, founder and creative director of AMI, has decided this year to channel his passion for the seventh art into supporting young talent through this partnership with the Semaine de la Critique, renowned as the "place of firsts." Since 1962, the Semaine de la Critique has been dedicated to discovering and promoting the first and second works of emerging filmmakers, celebrating innovative and bold creations, and offering them an international platform at the Cannes Film Festival. This provides ambitious young creatives with the opportunity to shine on one of the most iconic and recognized stages in cinema, just as directors like Jacques Audiard, François Ozon, Julia Ducournau, and Charlotte Wells have done. The 2025 edition will take place from May 14 to 22 at the Espace Miramar in Cannes, where an international jury will award the Grand Prix AMI Paris to one of the seven competing films.
