5 things to do in Paris this weekend
From February 7th to 9th
February 7th, 2025
At a glance, the week is coming to an end, and the weekend is already on the horizon. Even if the weather isn’t perfect, it’s time to step out of your comfort zone. The streets may be quieter than in previous weeks, but they are still buzzing with activities to suit every taste. Discover what the city has to offer this weekend.
Where to eat: At Kamo
On Rue Martel, a spicy breeze has been blowing since last November with the opening of Kamo, the latest creation from the team behind Tempête. No frills, just ten square meters of precision, a wooden façade by Mootz Pelé, and an oak counter where a well-oiled quartet operates: Maxime Huteau, Émile Bonnin, Hugo Audoire, and chef Nicolas Ricouard (formerly of Mary Celeste). On the menu? Pure comfort food with an Asian twist. Lamian with pork meatballs, udon with juicy ground meat, panang curry that coats your spoon, and crispy fried chicken burgers. And to top it off, a sweet twist: churros dipped in miso caramel, sticking to your fingers as much as your memories. As for drinks, natural wine sourced with care or a soft Negroni. Paris has its new slurping hotspot!

What to see: “Dennis Morris — Music + Life” at MEP
If your teenage years were defined by a wall of chaotic posters – Bob Marley in a trance or Sid Vicious in a torn shirt – then you already owe something to Dennis Morris. The photographer who captured the soul of pop culture is finally having a retrospective in France, at the MEP. The story starts like a punk fable: a young Londoner skips school to meet Bob Marley. The result? A tour with the Wailers and iconic shots recycled on album covers and merch until they wore out. But Morris didn’t stop there. Throughout the exhibit, you’ll encounter London’s Black scene of the ’70s, faces from Dalston, the gritty punk spirit of Sid and Nancy, and even Oasis’ rise during the Britpop era. At the top floor, a rain of artifacts: vinyl, posters, printed t-shirts, and even a pack of Marley rolling papers. The man behind the lens is a jack-of-all-trades, a slasher before his time, who did more than document his era – he shaped it. Open until May 18th.

Where to have fun: At a cocktail masterclass at Cravan
Cravan is celebrating its second anniversary this year! Since 2023, this bar has made a name for itself in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés and continues to reinvent the cocktail experience. Starting this Saturday, the venue is adding a new string to its bow with cocktail masterclasses. From 3:30 PM to 5 PM, you’ll explore the history of your favorite drinks while learning how to make them like a pro. Whether you prefer champagne or whiskey, there’s something for everyone. Classics like the Daiquiri and Whiskey Sour will be unveiled in a new light, with the right techniques and secrets. And the icing on the cake: before the masterclass, a Saturday Roast will take place to kick off the weekend properly.

Where to party: With Nollie in the Club by Half Pipe and Element
How to define Nollie in the Club? It’s like a nighttime skatepark session but with a top-notch sound system and a ramp towering above the DJ booth. Launched by Halfpipe Records in 2022, the project fuses beats and tricks in a format designed for clubbers who also drop a fakie flip. This year, the Parisian closed-door sessions are over: the tour is hitting the road, with stops in Lille, Montpellier, London, and Milan. And like any good skate road trip, it’s done in a van, with boards and turntables onboard. Bonus: Element supports the production and is signing exclusive merch for the tour with a custom board. The tour kicks off in Paris this Friday, February 7th, at La Machine du Moulin Rouge, with a cherry on top: Busy P, the legendary Pedro Winter, will be the special guest to launch the adventure.
