The prestigious winery Ca’ del Bosco has inaugurated the installation Handandland, the sculpture by Sicilian artist Irene Coppola, winner of the first edition of the Ca’ del Bosco Sculpture Prize. This competition, unique in Italy, is dedicated to large outdoor sculptures and reserved for artists under 40. The work will become part of the permanent collection of the winery’s sculpture park, strengthening the bond between art, innovation, and tradition. Born in Palermo in 1991, Irene Coppola explores the relationship between nature and culture in her works, using diverse mediums such as sculpture, video, and installations. With an impressive international résumé, she has participated in prestigious projects and received significant recognitions like Cantica21 and the Italian Council. Handandland represents a fresh and contemporary vision of the vine shoot, symbolizing Ca’ del Bosco and its commitment to sustainability and the promotion of the territory.
Maurizio Zanella, president of Ca’ del Bosco, emphasizes: «With this prize, we want to reaffirm the deep connection between our winery and art. Irene Coppola has successfully interpreted the values guiding our work, blending tradition and innovation into a piece that celebrates nature and imagination». Ca’ del Bosco, located in the heart of Franciacorta, is one of the main protagonists of the Italian wine renaissance. Founded in 1968, it stands out for the quality of its wines and its philosophy of combining sustainability, advanced technology, and respect for tradition. Beyond wine production, the winery has established itself as a cultural hub, thanks to its sculpture park hosting works by internationally renowned artists such as Arnaldo Pomodoro and Igor Mitoraj, and its commitment to promoting contemporary art.
The Ca’ del Bosco Sculpture Prize, organized in collaboration with the Venetian Heritage Foundation, will be held every two years, reaffirming the winery’s role as a promoter of the new artistic generation and wine culture. The second edition is planned for 2025-2026.
