Aperol celebrates its tradition with Festa Del Redentore
With a drone show and live music
July 22nd, 2024
On July 21st, of every year, the Festa del Redentore was celebrated in Venice. Aperol—originating in Veneto in 1919—chose to celebrate the local connection of its brand by offering a series of unique experiences over the weekend for a true Italian celebration. To honor the Veneto aperitif tradition, Aperol paid a special tribute to all its devoted consumers during the city's oldest festival, which for five centuries has gathered Venetians and hundreds of people from Veneto from sunset until late into the night to experience moments of pure magic together. The festivities began on the eve of the Feast of the Redeemer, where Aperol offered the city of Venice a drone show that flew over the Bacino di San Marco.
On the evening of July 19th, 1500 luminous drones lit up the sky of Venice in orange, surprising the city with images of local symbols such as the winged lion, a Carnival mask, and the Campanile of San Marco. The show also featured a bottle of Aperol and two glasses of Aperol Spritz, culminating with the word "Venice" in the sky. This tribute, created by Artech with Dronisos and directed by Luca Toscano, combined history, culture, technology, and creativity to celebrate the soul of the lagoon city. The celebrations continued on July 20th, where, in the heart of the Bacino di San Marco, live music entertained guests from the aperitif hour until late evening. At sunset, special guest Rose Villain performed an acoustic set with songs like "IO, ME ED ALTRI GUAI" and a cover of "Stand by Me," followed by hits like "CLICK BOOM!", "Fragole," and others. The event concluded with a fireworks display that, as tradition dictates, illuminated the Lagoon until midnight.
