Terraforma lands in Parco Sempione with Exo
The cultural event for a new ‘sound ecology’
May 17th, 2024
Terraforma Exo is the new project by Threes Productions that will be inaugurated on June 15 and 16, 2024, at Parco Sempione, Milan. An event inspired by the tradition of the famous Terraforma festival, it aims to explore the language of sound through a site-specific approach, initiating a process of experimentation on the interaction between sound and environment. Concerts, installations, meetings, and sound walks will transform the ecosystem of the Park around the Triennale Milano, the cultural hub of the event. Another theme addressed by Threes Production at Exo will be the relationship between humans and the environment, central to an investigation that will make the ecological dimension of sound available to spaces, in order to transform them.
The term "exo", from the ancient Greek ἔξω, means "outside" and reflects the festival's philosophy of pushing beyond conventional boundaries. This approach does not directly oppose the inside, but rather represents a process of extension and analysis from the core to its surroundings. Terraforma Exo embodies this vision, continuing to explore new territories and adapting like a flexible and utopian organism. The event lineup promises immersive and diverse experiences: Caterina Barbieri with 'Ultimo Cielo', a new piece and a sound installation in Torre Branca; David Toop, a prominent figure in ambient and experimental music; Damsel Elysium, who combines acoustic instrumentation with field recordings; DJ Nobu, known for his ability to blend various musical genres into unique sets; Kembra Pfahler, a multifaceted artist from New York's underground scene; Modular Organ System by Konrad Sprenger and Phillip Sollmann, a vast site-specific sound installation, and also Nídia & Valentina Magaletti, livwutang, ojoo, Robert Henke with the CBM 8032 AV project, and many others. Terraforma Exo will be an unmissable opportunity for those seeking a unique cultural and sound experience in the heart of Milan. With particular attention to sustainability and innovation, this new format represents a natural extension of Terraforma's mission to create new and dynamic spaces for art and music.
