5 things to do in Milan this weekend 23 to 25 February

Milan is in the midst of fashion week, which began earlier this week and will culminate on Saturday and Sunday. While fashion insiders run from one side of the city to the other, the rest of the city can peacefully enjoy the weekend. As always, there is no shortage of things to do – especially during fashion week when events and exhibitions abound, restaurants and bars fill up, and reservations become darn difficult to secure. But one must not give up, and that's why enjoying the city remains imperative even with rain and traffic.

Here are 5 things to do in Milan this weekend.

Where to Eat - Casa Camperio

Casa Camperio blends a restaurant with a classic lounge bar. The cuisine, curated by Ruwan Livera and Stefano Ceriani, offers original dishes combining Italian and oriental flavors in innovative ways, such as turbot with smoked tea, lemon, and broccoli or spaghetti bolognese with taleggio and mace. The cocktails, crafted by Andrea Lascatti Busato, a veteran of The Connaught Bar in London, one of the world's best bars, are absolutely spectacular, and once you try them, you won't drink anything else.

Where to Relax - Tela

A new multifunctional space, Tela, was opened in September 2022 in the Casoretto area. This venue combines a cocktail bar, art gallery, exhibition space, and events, occasionally becoming a platform for emerging artists. Aesthetically, the bar features a clean and essential design filled and enlivened by the various exhibited works. Behind the project are two very skilled and experienced bartenders, Claudio Ottomano and Dario Orrù, who have crafted an exceptional drink list.

Where to Shop - The Cloister

Some like vintage, others don't. But when the shop is at 5 Vie, the shopping experience couldn't be more chic. Patron Daniela Cavero has brought together under one roof (complete with a Bramante courtyard) archive fashion that is mouthwatering, mid-century furniture, and home accessories. A true sensory oasis.

Via Valpetrosa, 5

What to Explore - Olivero Toscani @ Galleria Lampo

An exhibition of unusual works by Oliviero Toscani lands at the Ex-Scalo Farini, displaying large-scale photographs dedicated to a taboo subject: feces. The images depict human and animal excrements from around the world, transforming a topic often avoided into an art exhibition that couldn't be more unusual. The exhibition, titled "All That Glitters Is Not Gold," is open to the public free of charge from February 21st to March 24th, 2024.

Via Valtellina, 5
