In 2024, the French luxury conglomerate Kering celebrates its 25th anniversary in Italy, marking the acquisition of Gucci in 1999. In collaboration with the consulting agency The European House - Ambrosetti, the group has published a study of the achieved results to quantify its economic impact on the country. The research estimated that Kering has driven economic growth of €10.9 billion, equivalent to 0.6% of the Italian GDP, creating 94 thousand job positions and establishing 49 production sites, including logistics, laboratories, and offices. Additionally, more than €10 billion in exports were produced, accounting for 1.7% of the country's total.

Among Kering's recent projects in Italy, the standout initiatives include the footwear atelier Bottega Veneta in Vigonza, the Material Innovation Lab in Milan for research and sourcing of sustainable fabrics and materials, and the Test and Innovation Lab in Prato for pre and post-production analysis of articles. According to Francesca Bellettini, CEO of Yves Saint Laurent and deputy CEO of Kering, the company's growth will continue to emphasize diversification of its presence in the territory and investments, ranging from craftsmanship to skills. «We are particularly proud that all our brands have now found and nurtured here in Italy the competencies and skills that make their products unique and highly desirable» explained Bellettini, who attended the inauguration of the new Atelier Maroquinerie in Scandicci, near Florence, in December for the production of prototypes, samples, and custom-made garments for Saint Laurent.
