Johnny Depp just signed a $20 million contract with Dior

Johnny Depp has just renewed his testimonial partnership with the fashion and cosmetics house Dior, in a three-year contract worth $20 million. The agreement for the Dior Sauvage perfume far exceeds all those taken by other maisons in the perfumery field, such as Robert Pattinson's for Dior Homme, $12 million, and Brad Pitt's for Chanel No.5, $7 million. In addition to consolidating the relationship between the French brand and the American star, the extension of the contract as Dior Sauvage ambassador confirms the support that the maison has shown for Depp in recent years, in the face of the controversial speculations and the trial held between the actor and his ex-wife Amber Heard in spring 2022. 

Depp has been the face of Dior Sauvage since 2015, a partnership that has seen him involved in numerous campaigns, which have celebrated him as a free and, as the name of the perfume suggests, wild soul. In 2020, following an article in the British newspaper The Sun that described the actor as a «wife beater,» Dior was urged by the media and fans to break its contract with Depp, a situation that was completely reversed last year when thousands gathered in front of their screens in support of the star during the trial against his ex-wife, which ended with Depp's victory, and a decidedly positive spin on Dior Sauvage sales.
