August 2nd, 2022
In August, Milan prepares to welcome tourists with a campaign that, playing on the narrative of the city's history, highlights new aspects about the identity of its neighborhoods. Starting with billboards equipped with a simple QR Code that links to the yesmilano.it website, people will have the opportunity to discover calendars, curiosities and insights regarding the neighborhood of interest. Brera, Navigli, Porta Romana, Porta Venezia, Sarpi-Chinatown are the neighborhoods particularly involved in this new YesMilano campaign.
The campaign also extends to 5 newsstands in the Quotidiana circuit - Porta Genova, Via Fabio Filzi, Piazza Giovine Italia, Via Castel Morrone and Crocetta - which are making convenient city guides available to tourists free of charge. Finally, a train on the M5 line reproduces illustrations of 9 neighborhoods that include Centro, Citylife, Isola and NoLo. While branded for the occasion, the train will remain in service beyond the summer months. «With this YesMilano campaign, we welcome and give some good tips for experiencing Milan to those who come from outside, but also to those who will spend the summer in the city», said Councillor for Sport Tourism and Youth Policies Martina Riva. «Our neighborhoods are the soul of Milan: they tell exciting stories, hold fascinating traditions and views, and promote engaging initiatives. And the summer, vacation period is undoubtedly the right time to take time out and get to know or rediscover the vitality that makes each area of Milan special and unique» she concluded.
An unprecedented and highly suggestive Milan is preparing for a rich offer of sports events that are particularly interesting for the international audience: from August 13 the Serie A starts again, at San Siro with the challenge between the Italian Champion Milan and Udinese; from September 2 to 8 at the Mediolanum Forum the EuroBasket FIBA will be held with the matches of Group C of which the Azzurri of CT Pozzecco are part - against Greece of the 2-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, then Croatia, Estonia, Ukraine and Great Britain; the Formula 1 Pirelli Grand Prix of Italy 2022 at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, celebrating its centenary, Sept. 9-11. «Through this promotional campaign carried out by YesMilano, they continue to enhance the city's power of fascination and entertainment capacity, telling the story of the cultural and social heritage of the different neighborhoods - whose connection represents a resource for the entire community - and conveying an idea of Milan as polycentric, inclusive and rich in opportunities», commented Elena Vasco, secretary general of the Milan Monza Brianza Lodi Chamber of Commerce.
