The Block Party comes to Milan with adidas Originals x Foot Locker

According to the New York Times, it was 7 May 1945, when the news spread that Germany had withdrawn from World War II and New York's mayor, Fiorello Henry La Guardia, had to vehemently ask citizens to return home or to their jobs after a block party broke out in Times Square: it was the first big block party in history. A typically New York form of celebration, which has become a well-known topos in the culture of the American suburbs and a milestone in hip hop, from the streets of the South Bronx on 18 June arrives in Milan with adidas Originals x Foot Locker, on the occasion of The new adidas Forum Basketball release. DJ sets and live performances by upcoming local talent, well known basketball games to participate in, unique, American inspired snacks & drinks, freestyle competitions and other challenges organised by Da Move, host of the entire event.

The adidas Forum, perhaps the brand's most iconic basketball shoe, takes on two brand new colourways exclusively designed for Foot Locker EU: one bright green and the other ochre yellow and purple, bold and cheerful shades that symbolise one of the most heated sporting rivalries of the 1980s. To celebrate the launch, adidas presents an exclusive Block Party in a location that is still top-secret but among the most evocative in Milan, inspired by the American NBA culture. Basketball and fun will be the undisputed protagonists of the event, with game moments such as the dunk contest or the 3point contest, as well as music, deejay sets with the rising stars of the Milanese music scene and freestyle.
