5 things to do in Milan this weekend
From 15 to 18 April
April 15th, 2022
If there's one thing you can't really escape, it's family holidays, and if you're one of those people who couldn't escape Easter lunch with your nosy great-aunts and screaming cousins this year, we've got you covered. For everyone else, there's 5 things, our faithful guide to a carefree and homesick Easter in Milan.
To Eat - Together
From the inspiration and passion of Federica and Alessandro comes Insieme, a realm of research and inspiration in a space marked by design and neutral tones. In the open kitchen, separated from the dining room by a large window, freshness and excellent raw materials triumph: seasonal dishes follow one another in a whirlwind of colours, between tradition and experimentation, such as fish of the day soup, Blackangus sirloin and egg, Parmesan foam and douxelle.
Via Giovanni Rasori, 12
To Discover - Journey, Tale, Memory by Ferdinando Scianna
Ferdinando Scianna's exhibition "Viaggio Racconto Memoria" (Journey, Tale, Memory) at the Palazzo Reale traces the career of the great Sicilian photographer, through more than 200 black and white photographs in different formats that recount the various themes of his long artistic career. An entire, previously unseen section is dedicated to Leonardo Sciascia, but also includes portraits of friends such as Henri Cartier-Bresson or Jorge Louis Borges, as well as the iconic advertising campaigns for Dolce & Gabbana.
P.za del Duomo, 12
To Chill - David Bowie, The Passenger By Andrew Kent
Through the images and memoirs of American photographer Andrew Kent, the exhibition at the Teatro degli Arcimboldi explores a very specific period in David Bowie's life, between 1975 and 1976. After the American experience culminating in the success of an LP such as Young Americans and the filming of the film "The Man Who Fell to Earth", the artist decided to return to his native Europe and rebuild his career. A celebration of one of the most representative artists of the culture of the times and of an uncommon personality and talent.
Viale dell'Innovazione, 20
To Party - Easter Monday at Bam
In Milan you can celebrate Easter Monday at the Biblioteca degli Alberi park in Milan with 'Sapori e colori della biodiversità' (Flavours and colours of biodiversity), an open-air event in collaboration with Grandi Giardini Italiani and Coldiretti. There will be a sustainable market with local products and seasonal delicacies, picnics and a treasure hunt where participants will have to solve tests, riddles, experimentation activities and games to complete the route and reach the Treasure Chest. The event is free of charge with prior booking on the Library of Trees website.
Via Gaetano de Castillia, 18-20
To Shop - Ziva pastry shop
In the De Angeli area, a confectioner's shop with exceptional Easter treats, from mini eggs with a thousand flavours to chicken-shaped eggs, Ziva certainly knows how to distinguish itself from the more obvious Easter treats. In addition, in the morning you will find classic croissants freshly baked, accompanied by a wide selection of hot and cold drinks made with our coffees, as well as single portions, tarts and modern cakes, pralines, mignons, biscuits, without forgetting the savoury corner: pizza, focaccia and bread.
