The gorpcore of Moncler's Trailgrips
The utility style of Moncler's new sneakers
September 6th, 2022
Moncler's footwear world enters a new dimension with the launch of the Trailgrip collection. Inspired by maximum traction mountain bike tires, the Trailgrip's rugged sole perfectly embodies Moncler's gorp-core DNA and utility style. The tread is deliberately exaggerated and the curved rubber toe box ensures maximum durability and protection on the trails.
The first low-top Trailgrip GTX sneaker, with 100% waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX technology, has been upgraded for an all-weather lifestyle. Four genderless colorways: classic black, black with red tips, blue with teal and purple, and glacial white-the design is coded with Moncler's signature flashes. The menswear offering features a trail-friendly beige version, as well as an exclusive olive green and gray END. Innovative flexible carbon fiber plates provide responsive cushioning and dynamic support to maximize energy production. The carbon fiber frame functions as a rock plate for underfoot protection and comfort, speed and durability.
Close collaborations with historic outdoor specialists Cordura, GORE-TEX and Vibram further emphasize the Trailgrip's outdoor attitude. For optimal grip and added comfort, Vibram's world-leading MEGAGRIP rubber outsoles provide unparalleled traction. An Ortholite insole is incorporated under the foot for added comfort, along with a heel clip for stability. A Trailgrip GTX High will follow later this year, drawing on Moncler's mountaineering history with a range of contemporary styles influenced by hiking boots. Materials include premium leather, Nubuck and Cordura, as well as a waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX membrane and TecTuff® rubber rand for durability.
