Demna Gvasalia's backpack for Eastpak
To support the fight against AIDS
November 16th, 2016
Eastpak has launched again its Artist Studio Collection, which involved some of the most famous designers of our generation. Among them also Demna Gvasalia, creative director of Balenciaga and Vetements, who had fun subverting the proportions of the most iconic backpack worldwide. The model created by the Georgian designer presents macro red shoulders, sewn on a black nylon surface.
The shape created by the shoulders next to the handle create the effect of a ribbon, symbol of solidarity with all people living with HIV and AIDS.
The backpack will be auctioned on December 1, World AIDS Day, and all proceeds will be donated in favour of the Designers Against Aids Foundation.
