Levi's launches the 501 Skinny

Despite its 163 years – it was founded in San Francisco in 1853 – Levi’s continues to renovate itself, and launch successful products. Its newest release is a "skinny" version of its iconic 501, the Californian brand's ongoing best seller.
The Levi's 501 Skinny, on sale starting December, have been designed for both men and women, and preserve all their original charm thanks to the choice of vintage washes and a distressed effect.
For Levi’s, however, "skinny" doesn’t mean "second skin": “It’s as skinny as it relates to a 501, but it’s not like a legging. It’s not superelastic or stretchy; it’s just a very slimmed-down 501” Jonathan Cheung, Levi’s Senior Vice President and Global Head of Design explained WWD.
Recently, Levi’s is enjoying a period of renewed prosperity: brands like Vetements or Re/Done elected it as the protagonist of their collections, reworking and decomposing it, yet without affecting its essence.
