Anthony Vaccarello shuts his label
To focus full time on Saint Laurent

Although the ubiquity seems to have become a key requirement for the new generation of fashion designers, there is still someone who has the courage to say 'no’ to many commitments undertaken simultaneously, preferring a more slow, encompassing approach.
The latest exception that proves the rule comes from the young Anthony Vaccarello. The Belgian designer, at the reins of Saint Laurent since last April following Hedi Slimane’s departure, announced today that, after eight years of activity, he’s shutting his namesake label to devote himself full time to his new role.
“This adventure has been amazing but I now feel the need to fully focus on this new project” he said in a statement released by the brand.
Before Saint Laurent, Vaccarello has been creative director of Versus Versace, a position he left earlier this year to join the French fashion house.
