Maria Grazia Chiuri is Dior's new creative director
Leaving Valentino
June 23rd, 2016
Today is a very important day for the fashion industry, for two reasons. First, Dior seems to have finally put an end to the long search that followed Raf Simons' departure last October. Secondly, the above position will be covered for the first time in the history of the House by a woman: Maria Grazia Chiuri.
The Italian designer is currently at the reins of Valentino alonside Pier Paolo Piccioli. They were both appointed by Valentino himself in 2007, when he retired from the fashion world.
According to the sources, the official announcement should take place after the brand’s Haute Couture show in Paris, scheduled for July 6th.
