Raf Simons will present his SS17 collection at Pitti Uomo
From June 14 to 17 in Florence
April 14th, 2016
After the announcement of Gosha Rubchinskiy’s presence, the next edition of Pitti Uomo is enriched by a new name: Raf Simons. The Belgian designer, who left his position at Dior last October, will be in Florence to present the SS17 men's collection of his namesake brand, as well as a special project.
It is not the first time Simons takes part in the manifestation: in 2003 he curated the exhibition The Fourth Sex with Francesco Bonami, in 2005 celebrated at Pitti the 10th anniversary of his brand and in 2011, when he was still Jil Sander’s creative director, he presented there his SS11 collection.
“We are happy and proud of Raf Simons’ return to Florence. Simons has been protagonist of some of the greatest events realised at Pitti Immagine Uomo… We like to think that he sees Florence as the ideal set to explore his professional and personal path, to find energy and inspiration for his future projects” Pitti Immagine communication and events director Lapo Cianchi told WWD.
We look forward to finding out what Raf will bring on the runway, now that his own brand has become his sole occupation.
