Is Jonathan Saunders heading to Dior?
The rumours go on
March 21st, 2016
These days the rumours are increasingly insistent: Jonathan Saunders seems to have been identified as Raf Simons’ successor as creative director of Dior women's collections.
It's been less than five months since the Belgian designer, on October 18th last year, abandoned his throne at the French fashion house. On December 8th of the same year Saunders closed his eponymous label, leaving fashion insiders disoriented.
Then there was a suspicious tweet by Bryan Boy, who insinuated he knew some designers who had been interview for the position at the LVMH group, and to whom had been explicitly asked to close their own brands. In addition to this, a few weeks ago Dior announced the presentation of its next Cruise collection in London – the city where Saunders is based – that gives us a series of clues not to underestimate, which make the Scottish 39 year old a very likely candidate.
Now we just have to wait for LVMH official announcement. Or not yet?
