Florence Welch is Gucci's new face
For the jewerly and timepieces line
February 15th, 2016
Alexa Chung announced the big news through Gucci's Snapchat account: Florence Welch is the new face of the brand. The British singer, pluri-nominated at the Grammy Awards 2016, will be Gucci's ambassador for the timepieces and jewelry lines.
It's not the first time the Italian brand meets the singer. Already Frida Giannini, when she was at the helm of Gucci, had designed the costumes for Florence and The Machine's 2011 tour, and also the singer's dress for her performance at LACMA Art + Film. So, Alessandro Michele seems willing to take this collaboration forward. The designer also stated he used to listen to Florence's songs while designing his first ready-to-wear collection for Gucci, becoming his muse.
Hard to blame him, right? Florence Welch is the perfect testimonial for Gucci, who, with her '70s style, her retrò elegance and, above all, her rock attitude embodies the new mood of the House impeccably.
