Is 10 Corso Como about to close?
the Milan icon has gone bankrupt
September 16th, 2015
One of the most emblematic places of Milan could soon close its doors. It’s 10 Corso Como, a location which is impossible to label in a single way: it's a concept store which gathers the coolest brands worldwide and anticipates the trends, a bookshop where to find collector’s books and rare magazines, a magic café in an old courtyard, a terrace with a breathtaking view over the city and an art gallery which hosted some of the most iconic talents of our days.
Since its establishment, in 1991, 10 Corso Como has represented for Milan an oasis of culture and aesthetic avant-garde, meeting point for brilliant minds and fashion insiders from all over the world. Project of gallerist Carla Sozzani – sister of the more famous Franca, Italian Vogue director – has gradually widened its boundaries counting today three more branches also in Seoul, Shangai and Beijing.
The society to which it belongs, Dieci Srl, has gone bankrupt: Equitalia has detected more than four millions of unpaid taxes between debts and fines for missed payments. A situation made more and more dramatic by the effect of the crisis, which has lowered the turnover even more.
If it’s true that we are all equal in front of the law and that taxes must be paid with no discounts, we can just hope that a rich financier will save the destiny of this Milan reference, to which we are not ready to renounce yet.
