Phil Knight leaves Nike

Phil Knight, Nike founder, leaves his role as President of the brand.

At the age of 77 he announced yesterday that he will step down from his role starting from 2016 and nominated as his successor the current CEO of the company Mark Parker.

Knight – who, according to Forbes, has a personal patrimony of 23,3 million dollars – affirmed he’s not gonna leave his creature completely alone: “Nike has been for me way more than a simple society, it has been the passion of my life”.

For the sportswear giant founded in 1971 a new era is going to start.
