Are you ready for Met Gala 2015?
Give me 5
May 4th, 2015
The most fashionable party of the year is the Met Gala, and this night (Italian) in New York will be the 2015 edition.
And this year we are at home, again.
Since 1946 the coolest people on the planet get together for a good cause, to raise funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute. The evening will be presented by Jennifer Lawrence and Gong Li, together with Marissa Mayer, Wendi Deng, and of course, the Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
But in truth we are all waiting for the red carpet, the best and worst dressed will be the main theme of tomorrow. Performance anxiety is felt, as stressed by Chiara Ferragni on her Snapchat account. Get off of bad taste’s hell is easier than you expect.
And now the details with the hottest give 5!
#1 China. The theme this year will be China: Through the Looking Glass. From Monday, May 7 will open an exhibition at the Met Costume Eastern influence on Western fashion, because the Met's Department of Asian Art celebrates its 100th anniversary and the Metball and will take place in the Chinese galleries of the museum. The risk of trivializing the issue is around the corner, respect it could bring down the guests in easy stereotypes. Dates back to mind the sad performance of Madonna at the Met Gala two years ago, the theme was punk and we leave you to imagine. (And Anna Wintour did not invite this year). Going back to Chinese influences, the curator, Andrew Bolton, has dischiarato: "The basic idea is the influence of Chinese aesthetics on designers, but I also wanted to convey how costumes and decorative arts crystallize centuries of cultural interchanges between the East and the West. "The aim is noble, we'll see results.
#2 Anna Wintour's party. We know that, since 1999, the Metball is Anna Wintour’s party, as well as the most influential personality of contemporary fashion. To her credit for turning a boring dinner with lenders to raise funds more effectively in the world, under her reign it was collected well $ 145 millions. The entry fee is a minimum of $ 25,000. However the party involved only the characters that are a genius, because the power of the red carpet is too vast. The right celebrity with the right styling, is better than any existing advertising. And Anna Wintour knows. Hence the proposals for participation in the emerging designers.
#3 No selfie/no Twitter. Like at Coachella. If you hope to live the highlights of the evening you will be disappointed. The Twitter/Snapchat updates and selfies have been banned during the red carpet and the evening. Apparently the reason is logistics, the selfie on the red carpet taking longer and are unsightly. Even in Cannes they are banned. But during the evening? Maybe maintain confidentiality on the colossal hangover that will take is recommended. Do you remember the argument between Solange Knowles and Jay Z last year?
#4 After Party, or the real buzz of the evening. This year to organize the party will be Lady Gaga and Alexander Wang, excellent conditions since the surprise of Miss Germanotta at V Magazine party was amazing and Wang organized the Bushwick Rave party, where Miley Cyrus twerked with topless. The experience is not lacking, and here selfies can be shot.
#5 Guests. We tracked down the guest list. The order does not know to call it (Fun? Importance? Wealth?), But in all the interviews Anna Wintour pressed not to make statements on the guestlist or on seats. So we will stay with the doubt.
