Joan Didion Stars in Céline SS15 Campaign
January 7th, 2015
It was just after 11 p.m. here in Italy. The usual bored scroll on Instagram’s home and then THE photo: Joan Didion x Céline.
An elderly woman, but sophisticated, minimal, elegant and incredibly cool. Taken by the skilled hands of Jurgen Teller for spring-summer 2015.
Million shares on social networks, so that Kim Kardashian will have to start over it. The elegance won.
Joan Didion, with a crew neck sweater and glasses (wonderful) broke the web. An American icon, who writes novels from the '60s, political essays and esotericism. An enlightened mind, and as such, is not ashamed to work with Vogue since 1961. She brought the drama to a higher level and transformed her writing about fashion in a fine art. Unmistakable in all its forms.
Céline and Didion are actually at the first collaboration, the fall-winter advertising campaign with model Daria Werbory (taken by Tyrone Lebon) draws heavily on the photo shoot of Joan Didion by Julian Wesser, appeared in Life Magazine in the '70s .
Decade of strong inspiration for the brand of Phoebe Philo, who continues to set strong trends without ever scream. The win of simplicity.
Propose models of inspiration for women, and not just envy forms provocative modeling. A love intellectual who can change the sales of a brand in an act of faith.
We are grateful to Phoebe Philo for choosing the iconic to the loose morals.
If you yearn to explore the world of Joan Didion, we recommend the documentary We Tell Ourselves Stories in Order to Live directed by Griffin Dunne, grandson of the writer.
