Patrick Demarchelier’s new book for Dior

Patrick Demarchelier’s new book for Dior

New Couture, a new book about the house built by Patrick Demarchelier, arrives just in time for Christmas.

Second after Dior Couture came out in 2011, the book traces the history of the French fashion house from the first collection "New Look" of 1947, iconic pieces as Corolle or Zig-Zag who are still in their original location at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris, to the creations of Raf Simons.

Past and present intertwine through clothes and images, creating a fantastic table book. From the desert to Versailles, from bleak urban landscapes in luxurious interiors of the 18th century, the choice of location reflects this bridge between eras, a link that moves from page to page, combining clothes of yesteryear to contemporary sites and vice versa.

Demarchelier, star of photography that has worked with the greatest artists and magazines, produces a small jewel of vision, accompanied by an essay by Cathy Horyn, until 2014 fashion critic of The New York Times, and published by Rizzoli.
