Prada FW 2014 Campaign
Architectural meets art deco
May 22nd, 2014
Summer is not even officialy there yet, we're already lurking over winter: that's how fashion rules. Today is Prada's turn to give us the reminder unveiling their fall winter 2014/15 campaign. As often, here it works by contrast, just like in the show, betweeen New York's industrial environment: where all we see is grey, cold concrete and the clothes from the new collection:voluminous and colorful, art déco inspired. The location choice is may due to the main inspiration for Miuccia this fall: constructivism and industrial art. In fact, red and lilac scarves, fur, midi lenghts, and white or metallic accessories do really stand out here.
Starring in the photoshoot are Argentinian model Mica Arganaraz who reminds us of a modern Pina Bausch, another major inspiration of the collection for sure, and male mdoel Karl Kobiz. Prada, just in like last season's campaigns, continues to represent different ethnicities and opting for newcomers over big names.
Behind the camera, the great fashion photographer Steven Meisel,, who's always able to frame and represent perfectly Prada's identity in one shot, no matter what the collection is about.
Now we really start to understand that for Miuccia this winter will be a mix between a seventies mood with masculine volumes, colored opulence and perfect balance between retro classicism and non predictable femininity.
