Play of colors

Monte Carlo. In a cubic structure of glass in the square in front of the Palace of the Prince Louis Vuitton presents his resort collection, reinforcing a link between the maison and the Monegasque royal house began in 1904 and based on shared values such as elegance, beauty and sophistication.
Nicolas Ghesquière, arrived now in its second work for the French brand, wears a luxury traveler who loves a minimal, but refined and special look. The designer plays with different textures, mixing neoprene and fur, leather and chiffon, silk and patent leaher and pays homage to the 70s with a kaleidoscope of prints and a "play of colors ", as he called himself. Continuing to explain his inspirations he said:
“I mean, I think there was a moment when people like Jane Birkin were doing their thing with this really cool and slightly offhand look with a real sense of mixing genres. At the same time she had Vuitton luggage, which was the symbol of a certain bourgeoisie, and as a result she gave it a completely different spin".
So Ghesquière alternates graphics, stripes, waves, chess, optical effects and pastel colors like baby pink and yellow. The result is a minimal and balanced look with sporty touches, made special by overlays, embroidery, inlays, laser cuts.
In the front row Albert and Charlene of Monaco, Jennifer Connelly, Adele Exarchopoulos, Emmanuelle Alt, Charlotte Gainsbourg and a selected list of guests from all over the world applaud the clothes from the dry lines, the high-waisted trousers, gold polo, patent leather coats. Louis Vuitton gives the princedom by the glamor of the 70s, to the mix of subtle opulence and sportswear that makes unforgettable the protagonists of that period.
