Domus Academy and MAX&Co. team up for “The Everyday Wardrobe” workshop
Students created the Italian brand's SS27 collection

March 27th, 2025
As part of the academic calendar of the Master in Fashion Design, Domus Academy launched a collaboration with MAX&Co. for the workshop “The Everyday Wardrobe”, a design project that directly involved students in the development of a capsule collection conceived for SS 2027. The initiative took place between February and March 2025, with a tangible outcome: the production and presentation of a finished garment to the brand’s creative team. The goal of the workshop was twofold. On the one hand, to offer students a chance to engage with the operational structure of an established brand; on the other, to reflect on the concept of an everyday wardrobe and its design implications. Starting from the heritage and visual codes of MAX&Co., the participants developed a proposal aligned with the brand’s values, articulating its identity through six complete looks based on research into volumes, color palettes, materials, and accessories.
The final phase of the project took the form of an internal fashion show held in the new school building, during which each group presented one of the garments produced and selected as representative of the designed collection. The work was carried out in a setting that simulated the timing and operational modes of a professional design studio, from the development of the concept to the prototyping phase, with roles and responsibilities distributed according to industry logic. According to Gianfranco Olivotto, Programme Leader of the Master, the workshop allowed students to engage with a market-oriented design approach and to experience firsthand the dynamics of teamwork in a creative setting. The initiative is part of a broader educational methodology that aims to integrate academic learning with applied practice, narrowing the gap between education and industry.
