The North Face celebrates the fortieth anniversary of the Mountain Jacket
The brand marks the milestone with the launch of the new 2025 collection

February 26th, 2025
The North Face, to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the Mountain Jacket, has launched a new 2025 collection, inspired by the Alps and snow, sudden downpours, and urban explorations. Since its debut in 1985, the jacket has transcended generations, becoming first an icon for skiers and climbers, then a symbol of style within the creative community, far from the slopes. Over the decades, its timeless design has evolved with the best technology and attention to functionality: from harness pockets to fabrics like GORE-TEX and FUTURELIGHT (2020) and now, in 2025, DRYVENT Mono. Already in 2010, the Mountain Jacket experienced a major revival thanks to innovative collaborations with Supreme, MM6 Maison Margiela, and artist KAWS. Today, its tradition blends with significant advancements in protection, sustainability, and performance, offering unparalleled versatility for both mountain adventures and city life.
The protagonist of the new campaign is Griff, a BRIT Awards-winning singer-songwriter, confirming The North Face’s commitment to emerging talents and, above all, the connection between the Mountain Jacket and the creative world. «Just like music, it’s just as important to me to express myself through fashion and the clothes I wear. Having the opportunity to work with an iconic brand like The North Face and be part of the global campaign for the fortieth anniversary of the Mountain Jacket has been amazing,» said the singer, who is joined in the promotion by snowboarder Blake Paul and freeride skier Dennis Renalter. The key pieces of the collection are two: the Mountain Jacket DRYVENT Mono and the Mountain Jacket GORE-TEX. Each jacket features exclusive design details, including a fully sealed construction for maximum waterproofing, alpine-style pockets, and a front central button closure. The hem, cuffs, and hood with ladder lock are easily adjustable, and the jackets are also compatible with The North Face Retro Denali Jacket. The Mountain Jacket Collection is available on www.thenorthface.it and in selected stores.
