Intuition, flair, creative spark, but also rubber, cotton, and aluminum. It may seem like a random list, but in reality, these are the ingredients of a recipe that, one hundred years ago, gave life to an extraordinary icon: the Superga. This is the famous canvas shoe with a rubber sole that, starting in the 1990s, left an unmistakable mark, revolutionizing Italian design, charting new paths, and creating original narratives. Today, the brand proudly celebrates its history, and a century later, its deep love for tradition reemerges in a new chapter: the Superga® 1925 Made in Italy. The brand revives the original icon and reintroduces it in a blend of artisanal expertise and meticulous care, taking shape amid the greenery of a land that beats to its own rhythm, the white of a canvas waiting to be lived, and the red that forges its vulcanized resistance.
Every element of the Superga® 1925 Made In Italy is designed to remain faithful to the iconic features of the original model. At the same time, the design has been revisited and enhanced, with details that elevate its uniqueness. Among the main features, we find, first and foremost, vulcanization, the beating heart of every Superga® shoe. This is the process that gives each model longevity and ensures unparalleled durability. Once assembled, every shoe undergoes this process, preserving its integrity and enhancing its durability over time. The undisputed protagonist is, of course, cotton. The canvas used is natural, raw, and undyed to maintain the purity and authenticity of the original material. The layer of glue “stains” the cotton and becomes the distinctive element, giving the shoe a unique and original character. The diamond pattern on the bumper is a faithful version of the historic model, with the ribbed profile created by the wheel’s mold being hand-passed over the raw rubber before baking. The logo remains true as well: the green rubber back patch, Superga Tennis Extra, Made in Italy, reproduces exactly the words chosen by Walter Martiny to identify the first Superga® shoe. Lastly, the insole, with its design and graphics faithful to the original, features an ergonomic line that naturally supports the arch of the foot.
