Gucci will only have three runways in 2025
The brand announced it this morning
November 19th, 2024
The great winds of change in 2024, although the year is coming to an end, have not yet subsided. In an increasingly precarious fashion landscape, brands are striving to adapt once again to the needs of consumers, following the great exodus of wallets from the luxury market. Some have regretted raising prices, others are revolutionizing their entire team (both administrative and creative), while others are opting to unify Womenswear and Menswear, fostering a dialogue between the two worlds. Gucci has chosen the latter approach: this morning, the brand announced that all its 2025 shows will be co-ed, aiming to make the collections complementary and transversal. Just last month, Kering's flagship brand revealed that the Cruise 2026 would take place in Florence on May 15, a tribute to its roots and the legacy of its founder, Guccio Gucci.
The first milestone for this new direction will take place in Milan during February's Fashion Week, where the Maison will present the fourth collection by Creative Director Sabato De Sarno. According to the official press release, the decision to unify the collections also stems from De Sarno's desire to express his vision uniquely, «fostering a continuous dialogue between menswear and womenswear». This intention is already evident in his early creations, where the dialogue between the masculine and feminine worlds is palpable. This new chapter underscores Gucci's effort to go against the grain of market and fashion calendar oversaturation. What other innovations does the brand have in store for the new year? Perhaps a successor to the iconic it-color Gucci Ancora?
