Moncler Genius announces "largest event ever" record
The City of Genius set new limits in fashion and live engagement
November 5th, 2024
On October 19, Moncler Genius launched The City of Genius in Shanghai, an immersive experience presented in the city as the conclusion of Fashion Week, bringing together artists from a wide range of creative fields. Within the CSSC Pavilion, an old shipyard in Shanghai, ten Moncler collections were showcased, created in collaboration with artistic minds such as Rick Owens, A$AP Rocky, Palm Angels, Jil Sander, Willow Smith, Donald Glover, Mercedes-Benz by Nigo, Edward Enninful, Hiroshi Fujiwara, and Lulu Li. Continuing an intense dialogue between fashion, design, architecture, art, and culture, the brand brought to life the largest event it has ever organized. According to Moncler in a press release, in the first week alone, the show reached a potential global audience of 8.9 billion people, generating 825 million interactions. With unprecedented results like these, Moncler has effectively redefined engagement limits, with the event livestream alone reaching 63 million international viewers, while 8,000 guests attended in person at the CSSC Pavilion.
Conceived as a tribute to global innovation, The City of Genius marks a new chapter for Moncler Genius, which has long been committed to celebrating the diversity of international talent as well as the brand’s expertise in fashion and event design. Each of the figures invited to collaborate with the brand for the Shanghai show was able to reinterpret the brand's aesthetics in their own unique way, creating ten completely new aesthetics that transport viewers into entirely new dimensions. While awaiting the market launch of the collections presented during Shanghai Fashion Week, Moncler Genius has set up a selection of looks from the show in London, where one of Harrods’ windows has been transformed into a digital runway. The collections will be released over the coming months, with the first drop, Moncler x Lulu Li, launched on October 24.
