In collaboration with photographer Guido Taroni, Valextra presents Milano Outside/Inside, a celebratory publication that continues our Valextra For Milano series, highlighting the iconic stylistic sensitivity of our hometown and Valextra's excellence. Within its pages, the architectural symbols and creative icons of the city converge to illustrate the dynamic dialogue between people and places that shapes Milan's unique character. Connecting them are Valextra bags which, with their discreet luxury, encapsulate the excellence of Made in Italy. Milano Outside/Inside captures the enchanting charm of a city where infinite forms of unparalleled elegance coexist in a constant positive tension. With the participation of fashion innovators, artists, and entrepreneurs, the figures in the publication embody the style and ambitious mindset of the modern Milanese man and woman, such as creative director Francesca Ruffini Stoppani, étoile dancer Nicola Del Freo, and model, actress, and activist Carla Bruni. Alongside them are the most emblematic architectural landmarks of the city: spanning from Liberty to Brutalism, buildings like the historic Corriere della Sera building, Milan Central Station, Villa Reale, Istituto Giuseppe Toniolo di Studi Superiori, and the Palazzo dell’Arengario accompany revered masters of Milanese art and architecture, including Piero Portaluppi, Giuseppe Sommaruga, and Andrea Appiani, to narrate the timeless dualism of the city. Expertly juxtaposed, places and faces reflect the world in which Valextra is immersed: a world obsessed with uncompromising quality, and rooted in a reality dominated by ambition. Each page embodies the innovative spirit and timeless elegance of the Valextra philosophy, the embodiment of the irresistible magnetism of our leather goods.
“The refinement of Milan and its elegant and aspirational lifestyle define Valextra's ethics and impeccable craftsmanship," says Xavier Rougeaux, CEO of Valextra. “With Milano Outside/Inside we aimed to capture this energy and present the stimulating conversation that occurs between people, places, and our sophisticated leather goods, to provide an authentic representation of the modern Milanese man and woman whose layered personalities are as captivating as the city they inhabit." Alongside the book publication, Valextra is honored to continue its collaboration with the Municipality of Milan to support the important work of safeguarding the city’s precious cultural heritage and conserving its monuments. In support of the project, this year Valextra has decided to finance the restoration of the Fontana della Trilogia: The Saint, the Young Man, Wisdom created by Milanese sculptor Adolfo Wildt in the early 20th century, a masterpiece of the artist located in the park of Villa Reale, in the external path of the Galleria d'Arte Moderna (GAM) in Milan.
