Anna Delvey will walk NYFW After the fashion show held at her house last year, Delvey will take part in the Shao New York fashion show

Anna Delvey is unstoppable, not even her electronic ankle bracelet can hold her back. After captivating the public thanks to the success of the Netflix show, Inventing Anna, the ultimate con artist is ready to hit the runway at the next New York Fashion Week, which kicks off tomorrow, September 6. Delvey, born Anna Sorkin, rose to fame after years of intricate lies and deceptions: born in Russia but with German citizenship from 2013 to 2017, the former convict managed to scam New York’s elite scene by pretending to be a wealthy European heiress. In 2017, she was arrested for tax fraud and grand larceny after scamming several wealthy New York socialites out of nearly $300,000. After her arrest and detention by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), she was released in 2022 and placed under house arrest. From there, Delvey—without any remorse or shame—made headlines again after the Netflix miniseries about her story, one of the platform’s most-watched shows, which also earned a Golden Globe nomination last year. Now Anna Delvey returns to the fashion scene for New York Fashion Week, where she will walk the runway for the American brand Shao New York. Could this rebranding from fake old-money heiress to chic, irreverent ex-con be really working?

Delvey is no stranger to the fashion world: during the years when she was executing her con, she traveled from one capital to another every September, invited to exclusive shows and parties hosted by brands and socialite friends. Once she was out of prison, she returned to her usual habits: last year, the scam artist organized the Shao New York fashion show—held on her home terrace in the East Village, given her house arrest. She will collaborate with the same brand for this fashion week on September 10, this time as a model. The last two years have been busy for the ex-heiress: since her house arrest began, she has been interviewed by publications such as the New York Times, Variety, Time Magazine, and many others, while just a month after her release, she started producing the reality show Delvey's Dinner Club (not yet aired). On the big screen, the fake German socialite has also recently been announced as a contestant on the American version of Dancing with the Stars, Dancing with the Stars. While we wait for Delvey’s runway debut, we can enjoy the promotional photos of her new show: in true Lindsay Lohan style, we see the return of the electronic ankle bracelet as a favored accessory.
