The first runway show is expected at Paris Fashion Week next March

Haider Ackermann has been named the new creative director of Tom Ford. Announced today by the owner Estée Lauder, the appointment follows the departure of Peter Hawkings, a collaborator of founder Tom Ford who retired in 2023 after the brand was sold for $2.8 billion. Ackermann will debut his first collection for Tom Ford during Paris Fashion Week FW25 next March. The designer will lead the overall creative vision of the house, bringing his unique perspective to a brand that has become one of the most beloved names in the world of luxury. Tom Ford himself has warmly welcomed the news, expressing admiration for Ackermann's work and praising his sharp tailoring, brilliant use of color, and modern sensibility.
Ackermann's career has spanned over two decades, working between his eponymous label, a stint at Berluti, and recent collaborations with brands like Maison Ullens, Fila, and Jean Paul Gaultier couture. Some time ago, Karl Lagerfeld even suggested Ackermann as a possible future candidate for Chanel, underscoring his immense creative potential and status in the fashion world. Ackermann's focus on womenswear is particularly interesting for the Ermenegildo Zegna Group, Tom Ford’s fashion licensee, which had already expressed a desire to expand this segment of the brand, which accounts for 30% of apparel revenues. His connection to Hollywood, through friendships with stars like Tilda Swinton and Timothée Chalamet, further positions him to amplify the brand's cultural relevance.
