This year, on the occasion of its 35th anniversary, the brand celebrates with the DKNY est. 1989 collection, a tribute to the elegant and urban looks that have characterized past, present, and future generations. The collection draws inspiration from the past but offers renewed and recognizable pieces, such as distinctive coats and cropped puffer jackets paired with pleated skirts, expressing a clear DKNY attitude. In line with this celebration, the New York-based brand has announced that Kaia Gerber will continue to be the face of the brand for the Fall 2024 campaign. This decision reflects the brand's desire to capture the spirit of the contemporary generation. The campaign, set in New York and curated by photographer Mikael Jansson and fashion stylist Alastair McKimm, explores the creativity infused by the city in every field, from literature to music. Quotes from works such as Just Kids by Patti Smith and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald are integrated into the images, adding narrative depth. Jeff Goldfarb, EVP of G-III Apparel Group, states: "We are thrilled to have Kaia as the global face for the second season. Her vibrant energy comes to life in our campaign, which connects back to the core values of the brand and resonates with our customers." With the Fall 2024 campaign, DKNY strengthens its storytelling, exploring the city's endless capacity for inspiration. The DKNY est. 1989 collection stands out for its reinterpretation of iconic elements such as pinstripes and gray suits, updated with casual volumes typical of the brand's modern tailoring. Outerwear is enhanced with logo-printed puffers, biker jackets, faux leather trenches, and Prince of Wales and winter wool coats. Varsity graphics and seasonal prints of an abstract skyline modernize the look. The new collection targets those who view the streets as a runway, allowing for endless combinations of looks to express a unique and dynamic style. Multifunctional denim, featured in long skirts, pairs with embellished tops and oversized shirts. Layers of cashmere and virgin wool with structured capes and velvet and satin dresses offer comfort and style. Sequins and sparkling pieces add a touch of glamour, while leather and nylon bags with metallic details and elegant, cutting-edge footwear complete the collection.
