Coperni transforms Disneyland Paris into a catwalk with a wave of his magic wand
The next Coperni parade will take place in this magical setting on October 1, 2024.

After making the eyes of the world shine in October 2022 by creating the world's first spray dress, Coperni continues to make its public dream by announcing today that its next fashion show will take place in a location that is, to say the least, astonishing: Disneyland Paris park. On October 1, while the streets of the French capital will be teeming with shows and guests from the four corners of the globe for Paris Fashion Week, the luckiest fashionistas will be heading to Chessy for a magical fashion escape. After the Institut de Recherche sur le Cinéma et l'Audiovisuel, a drive-in during the 2020 pandemic and the top of the Tour Montparnasse, this time Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant have chosen the world's most famous amusement park as their catwalk. A fitting venue to present their new collection, which aims to reflect a new vision of modern femininity, inspired by the timeless allure of princesses and the story of contemporary women's empowerment.
Time and again, the Vaillant - Meyer duo has proven that it is the king of surprises and unexpected twists, as much for the spectacular nature of its shows as for the scientific progress of the pieces it proposes. For the Spring/Summer 2023 show, the brand entered the annals of French fashion and created a worldwide reputation that is unlikely to fade. The whole of Paris held its breath as Bella Hadid arrived, practically naked, at the end of the show. But the general breathlessness intensified when everyone realized that the designers were creating a dress from scratch using spray fabric (a material sprayed from a can that hardens into a textile). Since then, designers have continued to create landmark performances and moments, falling into the category of historic fashion events. At the Autumn-Winter 2024-2025 Fashion Week, the Maison presented the Air swipe bag, a 98% air bag inspired by space technologies. Finally, in March last year, for the Autumn-Winter 2023-2024 fashion show, it was none other than robot dogs that the brand hired as actors to bring to life a reinterpretation of Jean de la Fontaine's fable The Wolf and the Lamb. The whole world will have understood: the Maison's two designers have a penchant for storytelling and all things magical. So it was only natural that Disneyland Paris should be the perfect venue for their next show.

Open to audiences ranging from toddlers to magic-seeking adults since April 1992, Disneyland is now Europe's leading tourist destination, with over 375 million visits since its opening. The resort features two world-class theme parks, seven Disney-themed hotels, the Disney Village entertainment complex and one of Europe's best integrated corporate event venues. Parades, light shows, fireworks - Disneyland has excelled in the art of spectacle for decades. Yet the parade the park will host this October will be the first in the institution's history. A challenge not only for the brand, but also for the park. The show will take place at around 10 p.m. in the Fantasyland area of the center and will be accessible by invitation only, implying that the park will be entirely privatized for the event.

The main muses of the show will be Disney princesses. «Of course, we'll give it the Coperni touch, meaning we'll approach it in a cool, contemporary, innovative and cutting-edge way, but we always like to evolve the style of the Coperni woman,» Vaillant announced. A revisited version of the modern Cinderella gown a la Zendaya at the 2019 Met Gala? A remake of the mermaid costumes worn by Halle Bailey in the 2023 film adaptation of The Little Mermaid? The announcement of the news allows the public to give free rein to their imagination, knowing that no details other than the venue and date have been revealed. All we know is that an after-party near the Space-Mountain is planned. It's sure to turn the heads of guests already shaken by the show the brand is planning to present. Of course, the House had to do more than call on its fairy godmother to make the event possible. This announcement is the result of a series of negotiations, which paid off in the end, and which will surely pay off (literally) in the long term, thanks to the media coverage the event will garner. Who knows, Mickey and the gang might even take part in the show and steal Coperni's thunder.
