Chaumet, the illustrious Parisian jewelry house, has recently made headlines as the creator of the medals for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, marking a historic first. With its heritage and expertise, it continues to push the boundaries of luxury and craftsmanship. On June 11, the Maison took a significant new step by unveiling its first Italian boutique. Located at number 22 Via Condotti, in the heart of Roman luxury, this address provides a perfect setting for Chaumet's exceptional creations. Italy holds a special place in the history of the illustrious brand. It all began in 1804, when Napoleon commissioned Marie-Étienne Nitot, founder of the Maison, to create a tiara for Pope Pius VII. This exceptional piece, consisting of a wooden structure covered in white velvet and incorporating three gold crowns set with rubies, emeralds, sapphires, diamonds, and pearls, was presented to the Pontiff by François-Regnault, Nitot's son. During this trip, he crossed paths with Empress Joséphine, who fell in love with Chaumet's creations. This encounter forever changed the destiny of the Maison, which became the official jeweler of the imperial couple. Italy then became the stage for grandiose orders from Chaumet's Italian clients.
Chaumet's new boutique on Via Condotti weaves a poetic link between Paris and Rome. The shared cultural references between the two cities are numerous, such as the silhouette of the Trajan Column and that of the Vendôme Column, which recall the beautiful story that ties Chaumet to Italy. This historical and artistic relationship is at the heart of the new address, creating a bridge between the two cities and their rich heritage. The continuity between the Parisian boutique on Place Vendôme and this new address is evident. Both embody the brand's commitment to offering an exceptional luxury experience, combining tradition and modernity. The store's facade, in harmony with the aesthetic codes of Via Condotti, combines luminous stones with the depth of Chaumet blue. Delicate motifs adorn the walls, giving the whole a confidential softness. A true tribute to Roman architecture, this centuries-old building with its vaulted ceiling and marble floor adorned with mosaics creates an atmosphere where grandeur and refinement blend harmoniously. The showcases, dressed in travertine, recall the richness of Italian heritage, while the nickel silver walls and golden wheat sheaves evoke the emblematic symbols of Maison Chaumet as well as the airy interior of Chaumet's Parisian mansion on Place Vendôme.
From now on, Italian clients can experience a unique jewelry experience. The journey through the boutique is carefully designed to immerse visitors in Chaumet's captivating universe, inviting them to discover the Maison's creations step by step. By setting up at number 22, the Maison has taken a decisive step in its history. From Paris to Rome, it now shines with its unique expertise, promising to captivate jewelry lovers worldwide.
